This week, Marvin Menke of Hemel Watches released the Swiss HM Series, a new line of ETA quartz field watches offered through HemelWatches.com and LongIslandWatch.com.
Like the original HM series, the Swiss HM Series features domed sapphire crystals, screw down backs and crowns, and C3 lume. Each of the five models features a dial inspired by classic military field watches. The bead blasted stainless steel cases are 40mm wide with a 20mm lug width. They are formed of three separate pieces and highlighted by a sliver of polish on the outer bezel. Two-piece ballistic nylon straps with signed roller buckles and reinforced adjustment holes are standard.
“The great thing about quartz movements,” said Marvin, “is that they’re solid state and their stability really serves the concept of an outdoors, field and sports watch, which would obviously get bumped around quite a lot.”
One special addition to the line is the Ten36 “Thin Blue Line.” This limited edition (100 pieces) model has a black and blue strap, and 5% of the proceeds will benefit the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Law enforcement officers have the option of having the Thin Blue Line strap bundled together with any of the watches.
The Swiss HM series lists for $299 direct from Hemel and is currently on sale for $279 at Long Island Watch. ⬩
