Remember Redux Watches? They exploded out of the gate back in 2015 with a mid-sized, titanium tool watch called the COURG that raised nearly $700k on Kickstarter. I bought one too. It’s awesome. Well, they are back on Kickstarter with four new models, all titanium, all badass, all 50% off retail.
These tool watches clearly convey the no-nonsense design language established by the COURG (BTW, it’s not that they hate vowels, they just named the watches after air traffic waypoints). The cases are aircraft-grade titanium, the crystals are sapphire, the lume is BGW9, the dials are black, there is no extraneous text – even the logo is a phantom embossing – and they are rated for 200m water resistance. DLC black coating is an option. All come on nylon G10 straps. Still, each one is unique. Many have multiple dial options.
The HONNR is a 37mm square case, instrument-style pilot’s watch with a Miyota 9015 starting at $299.
The SCOUT is a small, stackable set inspired by the 1980s Seiko Contra. Each module is a 28mm square. You can get a Casio 3284 digital, a Seiko NH05 analog, Swiss quartz analog, and a liquid-filled compass. Early bird pricing runs from $129 to $219. You can also under multiple modules for 60% super early bird discount.
The VALOR is a WW2-style field watch in a 38mm barrel case with a Miyota 9015. It starts at $229.
The COURG.42 is a 42mm version of the original but in a new dual-crown configuration. It adds an internal bezel and Miyota 9015. Rewards start at $299.
I think it’s great that Redux took their time to sharpen their pencils and draft up a whole slate of awesome new watches to continue the brand. As of this writing, the campaign has surpassed its funding goal by nearly tenfold, so there is no doubt they have a set of winners on their hands. If you are looking for military-style tool for your next adventure, I’d recommend you check them out. The campaign ends on the morning of May 27.
