It has been two long years but District Time 2022 is back! On March 5-6, 2022, independent watchmakers and watch enthusiasts will once again gather at the District Architecture Center, 421 7th Street NW, Washington, D.C. this free event will be open to the public from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
This will be the fifth D.C. watch show hosted by The Time Bum and McDowell Time and our first since the pandemic. It’s no secret that our hobby relies heavily on Internet sales but you can’t put pixels on your wrist and technical specifications only scratch the surface. Even the most detailed and insightful watch reviews (he said modestly) can only give you someone else’s subjective impressions. To really understand a watch, you have got to see it for yourself, hold it in your hand, and strap it to your wrist. At District Time 2022, you can do just that. Of course, we hope that you will buy after you try but ours is intended to be a fun, laid-back event. If you are lucky, you might just go home with one of our amazing door prizes.
As in prior years, we will have a wide array of brands and vendors participating including old familiar faces as well as several exciting newcomers. Note that the list below is not yet complete. We expect to announce several more in the coming weeks.
Our venue, the District Architecture Center, is located in D.C.’s Penn Quarter neighborhood and is conveniently located to both public parking and the Chinatown/Gallery Place Metro station. We want this to be the best and safest possible event for both our attendees and exhibitors so, while we hope there won’t be a need for Covid-19 protocols by March (goodbye Omicron!) we will follow all that the city requires, be it social distancing, masks, or vaccine checks. Stay tuned for updates. [Update: D.C. has dropped the vaccine requirement and the mask order will expire before the show!]
We can’t wait to see you there!
